His super star status scored him the role we all LOVED to hate in Shear Genius Season 2 and recently was named International Creative Consultant for Scruples. Charlie’s love for high fashion and cutting edge coiffure has taken him around the globe along side runway masters such as Eugene Soulieman, Serge Normant and Guido. You can see his Hairdini masterpieces up and down fashion runways season to season and continues to show the editorial world he is here to stay. You traveled the world to work at the most amazing high fashion shows! Every Hair Nerd's dream! What would you say you learned of most value with these experiences?

The fact that polish - professionalism - and attention to detail elevate any show.

On photo shoot, you sometimes have last minute choices & unexpected happenings but what do you feel is a common mistake Hair and Makeup Artists make?

Not stepping back from the work with the photographer and evaluating all the minute elements of each shot.

How would you say having the opportunity to experience so many areas of our industry has benefited “Charlie”?

It has helped me to develop my eye and understand the bigger picture of fashion - beauty and my career.   

What goes through your mind when your work is recognized? Does it get old?

Haha! Never it's always a thrill :)  

Who is the first person you call the second you find out you have placed as a nominee or won a hair award? Tell us your ritual for celebration.

Tell us about your mentors. What were some of the pearls they handed you?

 Ray Civello and David Raccuglia taught me about the importance of intelligence and sophistication as well as talent. Horst taught me that if you love your work money will follow.  

What classes and techniques have blown your mind along the way?

 Cutting with Van Council and Oscar Bond - hair styling with Vivienne Mackinder  

What do you feel new stylists should focus on in perfecting as they enter this industry?

 Goal setting- and studying the industry and the work of it's icons.  

 How do you use your talents to make a difference?

By trying to mentor young stylists to realize their dreams.  

What 3 items would you die without?

1. Designer clothes 2. Chewing gum 3. Fashion magazines  

 Your career has been so eventful. What has been the most amazing opportunity you have had in this industry so far?

A toss up between winning hairstylist of the year twice and being on Shear Genius.

 Start a product line and or an advanced academy.  

What Trends do you feel will dominate this year?

Graphic hair cuts - braids - all shades of purple and gold- black leather - statement hair color.
