ISSE Guide: NAHA Entrant
The education at ISSE Long Beach can seem overwhelming when you sit down and start trying to figure out how you are going to manage to take classes, shop and also stalk all your Hair Heroes. This year we have designed a handy guide to help narrow down the potential classes and stage shows and really focus on your #hairgoals.
So you want to enter NAHA? Perhaps holding that brightly colored trophy and thanking all the little people, while celebrating with your friends in Vegas is one of your New Year’s resolutions. Make the most of your trip to ISSE and score some guidance from these killer educators.

Labyrinth
Sunday – January 31, 2016 – 9:45AM – 10:30AM
Dallan Flint and his team will showcase his 2015 ‘Labyrinth’ Avant Garde collection. Learn how to create a successful shoot: storyboarding execution, photographer selection, wardrobe styling, and makeup artistry. Dallan will share the last six years of his trials and tribulations in creating several award-wining looks. Watch Dallan create some of his older collections on live models.
We had the opportunity to watch Dallan in action last year as he shot for NAHA. His passion and tenacity will leave you inspired to enter this year. He is proof that if you want something, you just have to keep working for it!

Watch and learn, as 2 time NAHA Texture finalist Lauren Moser recreates some of her favorite Naha looks from her 2013 and 2015 Texture Collections. This class will teach you to create and build texture to design powerful looks for NAHA, and how to translate these techniques to use in creating lasting event styles that will transform your clients into works of art.
After celebrating Lauren Moser’s win last year with her at the Subway sandwich shop in Mandalay Bay.. #OnlyTheFinest We super love her and think you will too! Lauren has an eye for incredible texture and this is a must-see class if you are thinking about this category.
NAHA Deconstructed

Learn how to construct a NAHA entry from concept and story-boarding, to model selection, to choosing the best photographer who can properly capture your creativity. See how the ideas and techniques translate commercially to the salon plus hear Charlie’s thoughts on the power of photo shoots in marketing for hairdressers.
We get it… Charlie can be scary, but who knows more about being nominated for a NAHA? Not a damn person… Let him break it down for you and give you the tools you need to run a successful shoot.

2011 and 2014’s NAHA Avant Garde winner, Jake Thompson lives, eats, and sleeps hairdressing. He’s an inspiring educator on all levels – from classroom, to salon, to stage. His passion is intoxicating, his creativity infectious. He is ardent about art and sees NAHA as inspiration to create and share work. Join him as he shares insider tricks and tips on his past NAHA finalist and winning collections.
Jake Thompson also delivers technique + inspiration without fail. What is great is he is also an accomplished photographer so you will get an entirely different perspective.
