What’s so great about professional beauty and why?

Great question, the unlimited opportunities we have in our industry from stylist, salon owner, cosmetology Instructor/manager, educator, platform artist to corporate education/sales and Management. The opportunities really are endless! Plus this is one of the few professions where you can make a profound difference for people.

What one trait do all successfully awesome stylists share?

They have the ability and the passion to make their guests feel beautiful and great. It really is a feeling like no other!

What do you say to salon owners who don’t currently carry a line of hair care products for fine, thinning hair?

I actually ask them a question: What is the percentage of you clients that have fine texture hair? Every salon has 25% – 75 % fine texture hair guests and those guests want fuller, thicker, healthier hair. If the clients’ specific needs are not being met, the salon may be losing business, or have the potential to. The client may go somewhere else to buy the products they need. One of the great things about Bosley Pro is that the guest will begin to see some results within the first 30 days with.

What does your typical work day look like?

Everyday is completely different; mostly I travel to connect with our distributors. I strategize and implement plans, attend sales meetings, distributor launches/trainings, salon and stylist trainings, education classes, business events, detailing and lets not forget about all of the shows.

I’m somebody who wants to do your job. What’s the most important thing to know or skill to have?

Focus, hard work and people skills…and never stop learning the trade. There is always something new to learn.

How do you keep yourself motivated?

Very simple, In general, I’m inspired and motivated by the people around me, both at Bosley Pro and those I meet in the field. This is such a great, dynamic industry. In regards to Bosley Pro, it’s wonderful to hear the success stories from people that use and love our line!

I hear you have a couple of dogs you kind of like?

“My Boy’s” Capone & Kalu – They are the best! They put a smile on my face and make me laugh no matter what kind of day I have. Best therapy ever!

I have one day to spend in Utica. What should I do?

You have to visit Starved Rock State Park, voted the #1 attraction in the state of Illinois. Beautiful waterfalls, wildlife, trails to explore, fishing and boating. It’s a magnificently beautiful park!

What would be your ideal vacation?

The beauty industry has been very good to me, I have had great opportunities to travel all over the US and internationally, getting to meet great people and getting to see our beautiful world. That being said, I would love a good “staycation”…where I can just stay home and relax.

I hear a good way to unwind is with a couple of Kamikazees. True or false?

I will take the 5th! LOL

How many trade shows would you say you’ve worked in your career?

I have lost count over the years! From the time I started my career in the Beauty Industry I have always been part of the show team and I love them!

Along with “the boys” I hear you have some kids. Best thing about being a mom?

So many things that I don’t think I could pick just one…everything would be my answer. From the first time they smile at you, hold your finger for the first time, their first word, discover everything for the first time, all the great milestones you have with your children is amazing. Watching them grow up to be the most amazing, loving and caring adults. So proud of my children and bless to be their mother!
