The Future

How do I plan for it?

OMG…is 2012 coming to an end already??? Unbelievable isn’t it and with the holidays upon us, a great time for reflection but an even better time to plan for the future.  The future, what does this mean? Does it have to be Earth shattering?  How do I achieve my goals?

Is it more BALANCE in your life or increasing your income…… or the good old: this will be the year that I get into shape and lose weight!

Another struggle will be DECIDING on your next step and subsequent junctures (next week, next month or next year). Well, I believe all three junctures are important but for entirely different reasons.

Let me share an example of how you may want to roll out an idea, a dream or a project in your future:

1. NEXT YEAR

This is the first step!!!!What’s your goal? I want to win the NAHA awards next summer in Las Vegas along with MENTORING young stylists during this process to pass along the knowledge.

2. FIRST STEP

How do I go about achieving these goals? Firstly, you must UNDERSTAND all the RULES AND REGULATIONSbefore you develop a VISION that you are PASSIONATE about and can share with other KEY people.

3. NEXT WEEK

We should plan for a CREATIVE BRIEF! Let’s get 3-4 key FOLKS together to strategize and plan NEXT STEPS with. This group should contain folks with different skills and points of view to PUSH the envelope and CHALLENGE the status quo.

4. TWO WEEKS

The broader group must come TOGETHER to share a vision with Passion and CONVICTION, gain further input and assign roles and responsibilities plus DEFINE the following: This broader group must determine the next steps and recruit the right folks

 *POSITIVE ATTITUDE

With the *ALL FOR 1 AND 1 FOR ALL TEAM SPIRIT, with this criteria you then search for Photographers (digital and lighting ability), set specialists, clothing stylists, make-up artists, hairdressers with various skills, colourists and of course the assistants/Mentors who are CRUCIAL to the overall SUCCESS

I’m a huge fan of the 3 musketeers and my nickname by elders in my family was D’Artagnan

- D'Artagnan's name has become synonymous with a fearless adventurer and a swashbuckling swordsman. At the end of the novel, D'Artagnan's dream of becoming a member of the King's Musketeers is fulfilled, and he is given a commission in the company.

5. NEXT MONTH

3 months or 6 months from now we have to pre-plan all the shoot logistics such as booking shoot space, CONFIRMING everyone’s calendar, securing ample prep area, food, snacks and products needed.

REMEMBER-the test shoot is critical to nailing down the overall theme. Models and different poses are a must for the test shoot, this slight increase in costs will pay huge DIVIDENDS

BTW, I didn’t choose GETTING INTO SHAPE as my example because truthfully this is my weakest trait and I am seeking professional guidance in the NEW YEAR! GOOD LUCK in your future plans but more importantly for now,

I wish you a Merry Christmas and Joyous Holiday Greetings.
