4 tips to have the best educational adventure at a Hair Show

Our Hair Nerd contributor, Carleen Sanchez, had such a fun time stalking and learning and buying TONS of stuff at Cosmoprof’s Spring Style Show. Heres a fun little recap of her time

I am obsessed, completely and totally mad, about constant growth and learning. If I am not devouring a book or learning or developing a new haircoloring or cutting technique, I go crazy.

My latest educational adventure was going to the largest hair show on the west coast… the spring style show, put on by Cosmoprof. I brought my amazing team of Style Residents for an education action packed experience because learning is more fun with your hair Besties.

Some tips so you will have a great hair show experience

1. It is Crucial to make a plan of attack when going to a hair show as every company and sales booth wants your attention and time is limited.
2. Make a calendar of the classes you want to see and the start times and make a backup plan for each of those classes as sometimes the calendar is wrong or you can see that the education you thought you were at isn’t what you were hoping for.
3. Avoid buying stuff on the showroom floor and instead buy from your Rep in the VIP room. Then you wont have to carry all that stuff around the huge showroom floor. If you MUST buy stuff then bring a decent sized suitcase with wheels and CHECK IT IN the bag check immediately. Then you can buy stuff and keep filling up your magic suitcase.

4. If you want to schmooze with the Stars in the industry that are teaching at the show, the best place to find them is late night in the hotel bars attached to the convention center where the hair show is.

Everyday is a chance to learn from other talented hair designers and nature itself. I am so glad I picked the hair industry to fall in love with.
