What one word describes how you felt when you hit submit on your entry?
Scared!
How does competing help you as an artist?
It really allows you to push your creative limits in a photoshoot. You often discover new coloring and styling techniques that you have created. I think if I didn’t compete I would get a bit bored. I love doing hair in the salon but I need the adrenaline rush of competing!
Beyond hair, what other creative outlets do you have?
I love to bake and decorate cakes and cookies. If I didn’t do hair I would be a pastry chef!

What’s your biggest fear in life or your career?
How fast time goes, in both life and career. As you get older it goes faster and faster.
Real life advice to someone entering the world of cosmetology.
I will always say don’t settle for mediocrity in your work and career. You should always be critical of every guests hair that you do and learn how to make there next visit even better. Be hard on yourself and set your ego aside so you can truly grow and become successful in this great industry!
I knew I was a Hair Nerd when…
I started to wake up at night with hair ideas in my head and couldn’t go back to sleep because I didn’t want to forget them. I now have a journal beside my bed so that I can write it down and go back to sleep. Photoshoot time is the worst lol!
