North American Trend Vision Awards is at the heart and soul of what we live for… Every year we wait to see the Top 25 semi-finalists and then the finalists leading their models down the runway. We can’t help but get excited as we think back to our very first NATVA and how it helped shape our futures.

Tell us about the moment you knew that one day you would be a hair stylist?

I realized that my job was making me really unhappy, and how much I admired hairstylists’ artistic and creative freedom. At that point, I made up my mind on what I wanted to do forever–hair!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Aside from working behind the chair, I would love to be involved in runway and editorial photoshoots.

How does competing help you as an artist?

Competing lets me be creative and explore hairdressing that is out of the ordinary. Most importantly, I get to meet inspirational hairstylists from all over!

What one word describes how you felt when you found out you were a finalist?

Speechless

What’s one thing you would have told yourself on the first day of cosmetology school knowing what you know now?

Sky’s the limit! Immerse yourself in as many things you can.

Something most people don’t know about you.

I’m addicted to watching videos on YouTube. Anything from tech to beauty gurus.

What traumatic hairstyle have you been guilty of rocking?

At the age of 6, I had a bad fringe cut by my sister the day before picture day. I looked like Jim Carey in Dumb and Dumber.

I knew I was a Hair Nerd when…

I started making hair contact instead of eye contact.
