Cameron Kepford danced his way into our #hairnerd hearts with his clients in foils, dad popping it like it’s hot and assorted salon shenanigans. Say what you will about TikTok but Cameron has found a way to integrate it into his brand story and keep us coming back for more.

Tell us your life story is 3 sentences.

I was born in California and have been back and forth from Iowa. (My mom is from Cali, my dad is from Iowa). Nothing like sunshine and corn! Creating is my DNA! If it's hair, makeup, dancing, videos, I've always had to be curating! My salon Haus of Heir is my serenity! *honorable mentions... my family, my babe, my rescue dog Banx, Britney, adventure, & cabernet.

We love your Tik Tok's. What about the platform made you want to jump on?

My niece was in my chair and asked if she could do a Tik Tok when she was processing with all the foils in her hair! I asked if she would teach me what she was doing and the energy that was created was magical! I knew instantly I was going to be making this a part of my experience.

You involve your clients in the dances... What has been the reaction from them?

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! Before my consultation even begins it's "I practiced this Tik Tok" "Are you going to make me do a Tik Tok" or "There's no way I'm doing a Tik Tok"!

I love taking my guests out of their comfort zone and making them laugh and feel amazing. The Tik Tok's that have gained the most attention are the ones that my guest said they weren't going to do!

How has this affected your career?

It has completely changed the course of my career! Not only do I have guests coming in to see me specifically from Tik Tok but my team is also getting those guests as well! It's created an energy that people want to be a part of! It makes me feel so fulfilled!

If you could only attend one class or event this year, what would it be?

Anything that could connect stylists together. Some of the most monumental moments for me have been meeting people from around the world and building those relationships.

What is your next big goal?

I just received one of my career goals being named one of the Modern Salon Top 100 stylists! I'm still pinching myself! My next goal is to create value from my craft. I want to give everything I can to help people grow! If it's Reels, YouTube, Tik Tok, or the next platform!

What are you currently listening to on repeat?

My partner creates the playlist in our salon (@RamiroCorrales #HAUSOFHEIR on Apple Music). I cannot get enough of Miley Cyrus 'Midnight Sky'. I just transformed one of my BFF's to her new LOOK! G-Eazy's new EP is so insane! I also am not ashamed to admit I know all the lyrics to WAP!

What was your most recent Netflix binge?

The series of all Netflix... HAHA! Selling Sunset seasons 1-3 was a guilty pleasure & Umbrella Academy season 2. Love Life on HBO Max is absolutely amazing!

If you were a cocktail or other beverage what would you be? And why?

Cabernet Sauvignon because I bleed it or Tequila on the rocks with lime because all you need is a sip and I'll knock you off your socks!

I was babysitting my cousins and would use my money to purchase hair color. Let's just say their parents were always surprised to come home to their children having fresh cuts and colors! I called my salon "Lucky Monkey" ... I was 13.
