Sassoon-Online: The Breakdown

Have you ever finally mustered up the courage to take a Sassoon Academy class and just as your fingers hovered over that submit button… a million doubts flooded your mind? What if I’m not good enough? What if everyone has a ton more cutting experience than me?

We get it. Sassoon Academy Education is the gold standard and it can feel incredibly intimidating. However, we are here to tell you… the one thing it isn’t. is inaccessible.

With the recent launch of Sassoon Online, academy education is readily available to all stylists no matter their experience or income bracket. We have shamelessly spent the last month taking classes, sitting in (virtually) on Sassoon talks and becoming best friends (by force when necessary) with the North American and UK Creative teams.

If you aren’t yet familiar with the Sassoon Online platform or haven’t heard us screaming from the mountain tops… the $19/month membership gives you access to all of Sassoon's original, premium content including the ABC series, step-by-step collection looks, live lessons, seminars, and many more programs that are unique to Sassoon Online.

So what do literal pennies get you for the month? (Seriously, though $19… like 1-9…)

Classes GALORE

It is absurd the classes you have access to in the membership program. It isn’t just the ABC’s of cutting and color. There are also years worth of collections with step-by-step instructions.

Your individual dashboard allows you to monitor your progress through the classes and revisit anytime. We are imagining this as the perfect complement to an assisting program or hairdresser with downtime.

Sassoon Talks

On more than one occasion with have risen earlier than the sun to greet the shining faces of the UK Creative Team and honestly this has been our favorite part. There is something very Hair Nerd about logging in and stalking Sassoon educators from around the globe. More than that though, we have grown tremendously fond of our North American team’s counterparts.

We suddenly feel like we are apart of the gang and if that isn’t worth 19 bucks a month… we just don’t know what is..

SASSOON LAUNCH

This category shares collection launch days in their entirety. Join the Academy Creative team as they demonstrate the key techniques, share the inspiration and reveal the latest looks. The 2020.1 video is 4 hours and 15 minutes! These are perfect for those days you are REALLY wishing you could go on a hairventure.

SASSOON IN HAUS

Mark Hayes is literally teaching you classic Sassoon cuts. Oh hey Mark… wanna come over for a cup of tea (we are suddenly very British.. just roll with it) and oh I dunno.. cut some hair. He is like grab that mannequin and let’s dive in.

SASSOON ART

Inside/Out- When Beauty is on the Outside don’t you wonder what’s on the Inside? Stripping back the hair, makeup and wardrobe to take a look at the model that we collaborate with and how at times their personalities lead the creative process. This is the stuff we REALLY love and the kinds of things we ask once we corner a poor unsuspecting hairlebrity.

SASSOON BACKSTAGE | COMING SOON

We can’t wait!!!! Once shows are back in full force you can bet this will be our favorite section of the membership site! A crucial part of any performance happens backstage. Join us as we follow the team working behind the camera or prepping for a show. Experience the true experimental buzz first-hand as a creative project months in the planning is realised.

Online vs In-Person

Will the Sassoon Online Membership site replace Academy classes? Not a chance. We will still want to visit the Santa Monica Academy every time they open their doors and allow us in.

That being said… we are pumped to get to spend massive amounts of time learning from the teams in so many unique ways. It isn’t just about step-by-steps and cutting classes… this new site allows you to join the community of Sassoon and belong in a place that is far more inviting than you ever imagined.
