Top 9 NAHA Nominees of the Past - Men's
Let’s be honest, It’s really 10. Every year, new talent emerges and seems to blow us away with their ingenuity and knack for the creative.
The “Men’s” category is one we go straight too when judging because you never know what you’re going to get. Added in just 2013, this newer category is about wearable hairstyles, focused on suitability, skill and overall design.
We have seen looks from long to short, curly to straight, dreads to pompadours. The category has a longstanding focus on masculine looks, but in the recent years, we have seen it transform into a focus on the hair and not the gender of the model.
Here’s some of our fav collections from years past for you to enjoy.
Guy Auclair - 2013
Guy entered into this category the first year in was brought to life. We absolutely love the foundation and standard he set for future hairdresser.
Pete Goupil - 2019
Pete is no stranger to the competition world. He took home the 2019 NAHA trophy with this incredible collection and we don’t have a doubt in our mind he’ll be filling his shelves with all kinds of awards in the years to come.
Thom Robins - 2016
Thom’s vision was like the most delicate sculptures come to life. The collection was that of simplicity, design and structure.
Whitney VerMeer - 2017
The soft waves paired with hard lines accompanied by just the right lighting makes this a win in our book. From the finished images, you can clearly see the thoughtfulness that Whitney put into this collection.
Rodrick Samuels - 2014
We originally met Rodrick during a barbering course, long before he and Lauren Moser partnered with Taylor Andrews to open a Barbering school. So it was no surprise when we saw his work in the finals!
Christina Franklin - 2015
Not one to rest on her laurels, Christina showed her students at Eric Fisher Academy that you can’t win of your don’t enter. We loved her fresh take on the Men’s category.
Matthew Morris - 2016
Matthew has been a favorite of ours since the beginning of The Hair Nerds. The texture in his 2016 collection is what made us Team Matthew for life.
Paul Pereira - 2015
If Paul knows one thing, it’s how to dress hair. His striking perfection is not only seen in his collections, but in all of the work that he does.
Ammon Carver - 2016
Ammon is genuinely one of the best humans we know and also happens to be an insanely talented hairdresser. NAHA’s are nothing new to this gentle giant who has taken the competition by storm.
